I'm a Mom, Now What

Ok, so I used to wear clothes from Victoria's Secret, Ann Taylor Loft, The Limited, and Express... you get the idea. Now post baby, my body is a different shape, so all those clothes I had before, don't quite fit right even though I am within pounds of my previous weight.

So here is my question. Now that I am a mom, and over 30 for that matter... what am I supposed to wear? What is my new style? Where do I shop? I know I need functional clothes that are easy to wash and wear and hold their shape even when a little guy is pulling and tugging simultaneously either spitting up or wiping his nose on me. But I still want to be a little sexy, I mean, I am still a woman with needs here. I also want to be able to do all the work I now seem to be doing. All this feeding, wiping up, carrying around, feeding, rocking, cleaning... I have found jeans, now to find tops that are more than my fall back v-neck t-shirts. I am SO tired of those! Oh, and shoes. I am not ready to give up my heals, though I think they are relegated to Sundays only for fear of severing a tiny finger while he is crawling underfoot... but what can I wear? I have found that style does not meet function. Either I have ugly Crocs that are heaven on my sore feet, or stylish ballet flats that make mincemeat out of my swollen arches.

What is a woman to do? I am so over my current wardrobe. So is my husband. He calls me a Who, from Whoville. Or better yet, the Grinch, but only on my bad days. I have a pair of terry yoga pants that are bright green, so comfy, but apparently so not sexy. *Sigh*
